ALL HAIL MACBETH THE GRAPHIC NOVEL
Well Macbeth now has been out there in the graphic novel world for 2 years!
It's won a couple of awards received great reviews, been reprinted in the U.K, U.S.A and Turkey, and has been published in loads more countries including some south American ones.
It has had the thumbs up by top actors of stage and screen Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Derek Jacobi.
never thought all this would happen when in October 2006 Clive Bryant met me at the Birmingham Comic con and asked me if i would be interested in drawing Macbeth as a graphic novel,
i guess at the time i was very nervous of the job but once the character designs flowed i knew it could work , i was very lucky to have a great team on the book it was a pleasure working for Clive and Jo and Karen .
Nigel Dobbyn really pulled off some magic with his colouring of the book , Nigel is a fantastic artist just check out his website, also very lucky Gary Erskine came on board to help on inks so i could meet the deadline.
Macbeth took me 54 weeks to draw so it was a long job for a single project but i didn't want to do a slap dash product and after 2 years I'm still still very proud of it .

I love the cover. Happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteReally fabulous piece of work Jon. I reckon out of the whole series (and there are some strong contenders) this one has to be my favorite.
