Macbeth the Turkish edition

Received from the postman today a copy of the Turkish version of the Macbeth graphic novel i worked on for Classical Comics , it looks a lot like the British and American versions apart from at the back they have adverts for 1066 TV prog and Merlin the BBC 1 TV show ,and of course the balloons are in Turkish ,so now there are to date 5 different versions of this work ...still waiting to see the Japanese version, it's nice to know this book is getting a global audience after all the hard work went into drawing it and the production of it as well.

COMIC BOOK IDOL NUMBER 5 JACK (THE KING) KIRBY

Growing up in the 70's in the UK Jack's Marvel work was reprinted in A4 size comics in black and white from Marvel U.K ,if you where lucky the odd railway station or corner newsagent would have the odd full colour american comic .

what i love about his work is his designs, his dynamics the sheer power of the characters as they leap off the page at you , he had a great energy going on in his pencils and a unique style , he had an incredible ability to create fantastic characters for the main publishers in a 50 year career .

to read more about the king and to see more fantastic art my friend Tim Perkins website Wizards-Keep has a Hall of Fame section with a terrific tribute
here's the link
http://www.wizards-keep.com/index.asp-Q-Page-E-hall-of-fame--26699466

Kirby was a genius and there will never be another artist like him who could work like him or create like him.

it's been a real honour the last few years drawing these covers as the material inside was the stuff i read as a child which inspired me to be a comic artist.

ACTION MAN TRY OUT SAMPLE PAGES 1995

Drew these pages in 1995 for a Action man comic ,the style of the comic was more grown up than the later Panini version , soon after these samples where drawn the title was cancelled which was a shame ,they used to have wonderful painted covers by Colin Macneil.
i inked one of my pages using a brush and i got my good friend Mike Perkins to ink the first page ,mike of course now is a respected artist and inker super star for Marvel working on lots of titles like House of M,Union Jack, Captain America and The Stand.
these pages have never really been seen by joe public
