HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAY HARRYHAUSEN 90 TODAY.

Happy birthday to the genius Ray Harryhausen ,as a young child i was hooked on his movies of fantasy and high adventure .

my all time favourite film is one of Ray's Jason and the Argonauts i must have seen it dozens of times but i still have goose bumps watching it.

he's a master craftsman of special effects and stop motion animation a one off and i would just like to thank him for all the wonderful entertainment that he and Charles H Schneer produced they enriched my life with their amazing films.

A FISTFUL OF BELLAMY

Frank Bellamy from a 1973 interview with Dez Skinn and Dave Gibbons

''I'd love to draw the Sergio Leone Dollars films in strip form. Not just the Dollars films because they where big successes but any Spaghetti western''

in 1976 Ally Sloper magazine issue 1 printed a three page strip by Frank of a western strip called Swade inspired by Sergio Leone

it was sadly one of the last things Frank drew so as a tribute to these visionaries here are the 1960's movie posters of the Dollars movies,

like Frank i love these movies for the style the music and the characters all three films are brilliant the movie posters are great too all painted and still look great to look at.

A FIST FULL OF DOLLARS 1964
A FEW DOLLARS MORE 1965
THE GOOD THE BAD AND THE UGLY 1966

and Frank Bellamy's Swade

i love this work for it's design layout use of shadow and action there are no word balloons or thought boxes just art ,these pages still show what a great craftsman Bellamy was my thanks to the The Frank Bellamy Checklist's Norman Boyd who was kind enough to send me the Swade pages

the dollars movies copyright MGM Studios
Swade copyright Frank Bellamy

FRANK SIDEBOTTOM R.I.P

Frank Sidebottom has died from cancer. Chris Sievey was his real name under the huge over-sized, papier-mache head, he was part of my youth i loved his wacky tv show and his fun comic strips in Oink comic Lew Stringer gives a great tribute to Frank on his blog and so does Rich Johnston on bleedingcool.com

a sad loss to British comedy and entertainment

NOT FUNNY TO RIP ME OFF OR BADPRESS LTD

just found out today some scumbag has lifted images of my art from my website and used them on t-shirts the art was from two Tales of the Buddha pin-ups that had the copyright symbol on the art
this guy claims to be a fan and has had the nerve to link to my website
the art on the t-shirts are not fan drawn they are direct copies of my work I've passed on the info to Bad press that publishes Buddha and i hope we can stop this person making money from our copyrighted character to say I'm angry is underplaying it.

UPDATE THIS GETS MENTIONED ON BLEEDINGCOOL.COM SWIPE FILE HERE'S THE LINK

RETURN OF THE KING: NEAL ADAMS ON BATMAN

Well this is my 300th post ,so i thought would share the fact that I'm a huge Neal Adams fan have been since i saw his Uncanny X-men work reprinted in black white Marvel U.K comics in the 70's
like a lot of fans I've waited a long time for Mr Adams to return to the Dark Knight and judging by these pieces of art he's showing all the pro artists out there he's still got the guns to produce exciting entertainment!

These images are from the Neal Adams "Batman: Odyssey" series which will be 12 issues in all published by DC COMICS
